Description

ok recently ive got people asking em how to do sloped terrain....
yeh..theyv been asking..how..to do that.

no but seriously, pixel art is made of common sense of obviousness..so bvious you can miss the point of how easy it is, even ive done it. so im not saying you suck or anything.

basically u draw a line from the point where you want the slope to start, to the point u want it to end..yeh sounds simple, now lets see how simple it actually is..

basically this tutorial will show you the basic technique of sloping terrain here ive used a sample grid:
sample grid [link] - this is prolly the best grid ive ever made and used.

ok lets get on with it
-----------------------------------
1) first u have your flat landscape..grid ..whatever

2) add the raised grid where u want the land to go higher, or lower.

3) find the lower point of the slope

4) find the higher point of the slope

5) draw a line between those two points..and thats basically it..heh
(45 degrees, for my grid, which is y its so easy to use)

6) do the rest with the other parts

7) now we have a gap..find one point

find the other point

9) join up

10) - those red lines are there for tutorial purposes only..so you can see whats going on here.

anyways, another BASIC tutorial hope its useful..and remember..being a "noob" is nothing to be ashamed off..no it isnt dont fool yourself, if your being rejected because of it..come to me and ill be happy to teach you the ways.

tho im sometimes busy in which case..im sorry

alot fo you say "u cant do it" but you can your just not trying, you just dont practise..or mabeys its not really what u wanna do?

being a noob is not shameful, the reason you think its shameful is because you dont like to think of yourself as being unskilled, but you dont see the fact that..it doesnt matter..it doesnt make a difference.

and no.,it doesnt make a difference at all.
two pixelartists could come to da, at the same time and submit thier first peices of art
one person makes a masterpeice in 3 days, the other makes a masterpeice in 3 weeks..none was more skilled than the other, but they advanced at different speeds..

so you see..its not about how skilled you are..but how fast you progress.
and slow progression is not a bad thing either..because slower progression sometimes means better quality anyway.

dont say you cant do it..because you CAN if you want to.

once again..i appeal to the "newbs" bring out the pixels within.

i hope all fo this is useful to anyone, noob or expert..
